James DeGale thinks Floyd Mayweather only wants to be pals with him so he can get close to his SISTER
Mayweather is promoting the show involving DeGale's world title eliminator against Badou Jack.
JAMES DEGALE reckons Floyd Mayweather only wants to be his mate to get closer to his sister Eloise.
The retired boxing great is the promoter for DeGale’s huge super-middleweight unification clash against Mayweather‘s house fighter Badou Jack in Brooklyn next month.
And the undefeated icon had plenty of kind words for IBF champ DeGale and even asked for his number after the Press conference to announce the clash last month. But Londoner "Chunky" says Mayweather has got an ulterior motive - because he has taken a shine to DeGale's older sister Eloise who works as his PA. He said: “I’m not too sure if he likes me or if he is after my sister. You think I’m joking?
“But my sister’s boyfriend is standing there not happy. I’m telling you the truth.”
DeGale added: “Also he likes me a lot because I remind him of a young Floyd Mayweather.
“That’s because I’m a good fighter and I’m a bit mouthy, probably, and a bit flashy.”
Mayweather has previously revealed his soft spot for Eloise when discussing the potential clash between DeGale and Jack back in May.
For Chunky’s past two fights - against Lucian Bute in November 2015 and Rogelio Medina in April - the Showtime cameras have zeroed in on his sister during the breaks between rounds.
And Mayweather admitted that the former dance teacher has caught his eye.
The 49-0 star told FightHype: “Honestly speaking, I like James DeGale - but I really like his sister!
“James DeGale is a great fighter, a very exciting fighter and what we want to do is continue to put great shows on.”
